About the Role 

Dimensional Energy, a leader in the production of sustainable fuels and other high-value products from carbon dioxide, is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Process Engineer. This role will be in charge of leading the Process team from concept selection through detailed engineering design of Power-to-Liquids projects. Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the Process Engineering lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex, first-of-a-kind Power-to-Liquids projects 
  • Responsible for leading and mentoring the Process team to produce high quality process deliverables, such as Process Data Sheets, Heat and Material Balances, DP/DT diagrams, pressure relief valve calculations, etc.  
  • Develop and maintain process simulation models for various projects and studies to support process deliverable production 
  • Perform process simulation case studies based on different process configurations, operating modes, rating cases, catalyst performance, etc. as needed to support technology development, optimization, and deployment  
  • Engage and collaborate with client, vendors, licensors, and other functional disciplines to promote the overall success of projects with focus on budget, process safety, and schedule.  
  • Actively lead safety-related reviews such as HAZOP workshops, LOPA, and SIL assignment. 
  • Review and provide Process input for key Instrument and Controls documentation such as Control Logic Narrative, Cause and Effect Diagram, and Emergency Shutdown Narrative.  
  • Spearhead process improvement projects and turnaround planning for operating Power-to-Liquids Plants 
  • Ensure system designs are safe, code compliant, and utilize industry best practices. 
  • Support commissioning and start-up activities for new facilities. 
  • Write effective reports and summaries. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in Chemical Engineering. 
  • Minimum ten years experience in petrochemical related technologies 
  • Experience with Fischer-Tropsch, Power-to-Liquids, and other related Energy Transition technologies is preferred 
  • Highly proficient using process modeling software, such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, VMG Symmetry, or similar tools. 
  • Experience with dynamic process simulation modeling. 
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in design, construction, operations, and debottlenecking.
  • Strong technical background in process engineering principles and best practices.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred  
  • Familiar with project execution practices and procedures typical of chemical manufacturing and refining industry. 
  • Preferred locations: Houston TX or Tucson AZ.  
  • Eligibility to work in the United States. 

 Pay and Benefits 

  • The salary range for this position is $130,000-160,000 depending on market, skills, and experience.
